Day 12

Today it was time to leave Paris. Paris captured my heart and soul and France will definitely be somewhere I will return but with much improved speaking skills as I think that will enrich future experiences. Bastille day was just one of the most amazing things I have been part of, the country's passion about itself and it's identity was beautiful to see, the fireworks display and music just made my soul hum, that is what life is about.

The flight from Paris was uneventful and having done research the night before discovered to get to our hotel was going to be pretty easy by train.

Here is the luxury we were in to the centre of Vienna (Wien in the he native language). 16 minutes later we were in the heart of vienna.

Here is the view from our room.

Two things I was told I must have, a schnitzel and a strudel, here is my proof I have had said items.

Upon arriving we discovered this as we came out of the train station .... Jaw dropping don't you think, and look horses, other feature a little later.

Here are some stunning photos from within, this cathedral called Stephansdom.

A cool medieval donation box.

Ah, I said they would feature later, we couldn't resist so we had a horse and cart short tour of Vienna.

We then went on foot. The main street.

Some random suburb shots.

A very old renaissance facade, can yousee it?

Hmm, where to next.

And we found this :0

This is the Dominikaner-kirche, built between 1631 and 1674, mind blowing inside, again the pictures can't truly capture it's beauty,

The fountain outside our room window.

There was a rest day of the Tour de France today so we didn't get to see that but we discovered what channel it is on ready for tomorrow's stage!

So day one impressions of Vienna, wondrous, beautiful, old yet new. They seem to be able to balance the ancient history with the modern look.

Tomorrow, more of Vienna and a classical concert in an old cathedral, can't wait.
