Day 23 and 24

Day 23
It was an early start for us today, 5am get up, finish packing then down to breakfast at 6am for a very sharp departure at 6:30am. The initial plan for the tour was that we would be taking the train but there have been heaps of strikes so the call was made that we were to fly from Toulouse to Paris for our final day, the pinicle, the final stage of Le Tour and our final days of our holiday.

A picture of our trip to the hotel, a cool underground tunnel.

Day 24

The morning was to be dedicated to a ride around Paris, especially a ride on the Champs-Élysées, the circuit that Le Tour follows, 8 laps to a finish which goes around ...

We then went to the Effiel Tower and took some great shots.

When the ride was over we had breakfast then headed out to our catered tent for the last stage. We caught the metro as a group and walked the rest of the way as many of the roads were blocked off.

The view of the track from our tent, the finish line in the distance on the right.

Today's selfie at the tent.

A glamour shot of Kelly at the tent.

One of the highlights of visiting the race is that about an hour before the riders get to the track there is an advising caravan that goes through the crowd. On other stages this caravan throws out free stuff for the crowd (which they love) but unfortunately they didn't on this occasion given it was the last stage and they wouldn't want to have to clean things up before the riders arrive.

The riders arrived and did 8 laps to the finish line.

For those of you who don't know who won, it was Kelly's favourite rider, Marcel Kittel, her only objective at the end of the race was to get a photo with him, which she did.

We also got a great picture of André Greipel.

The day ended on a high so we headed back to our room to pack for tomorrow's departure.

Tomorrow and the next will be travel so this will be the last post for our holiday. It has been a pleasure writing the blog and I hope you have enjoyed it, leave a comment and let me know what you thought.

The trip has been life changing, so many things learnt and experiences had but I am glad to be home. I can't wait to plan the next big adventure, I will try and blog the next one as well.

Enjoy life, be in the moment and keep well.
