Day 3

As mentioned yesterday, today was going to be a lazy day, on the beach in the pool and sitting on the lounges, here is a nice panoramic of the view.

Have discovered that the beach bar has a 17% surcharge so what looks cheap isn't not so much, nearly $4 for a bottle of water and a 325ml can of ginger ale.

Spent 5 hours lounging at the beach, then got hungry, the satays were awesome.

Discovered something very cool, the wireless near the beach is good enough for us to stream the tour today, stage 2 which apparently is one of the hardest stages scheduled in the first week, since the 1970s.

We heard about a market that was in town near our resort on Sundays so headed out in the afternoon to find it.

We found it but it was just being setup.

We headed up the street further to see if there was anything else of interest but got caught in a huge down pour so popped in for a drink in the bondi bar.

Pictures just didn't do the rain justice

The bar was situated in the seedy side of town, our friend adding something extra to it. :)

We have had the discussion a few times, why come to Thailand and eat western food so each day we try and find a place where we can taste the local flavours. We discovered a nice place on the way back to the resort.

I ordered the fried rice "in" pineapple and was not expecting this, a pineapple bowl!

Didn't leave a scrape, it was an incredible dish.

With all the activity not done today, I thought dessert was in order,  I have actually got a sweet tooth for banana splits, had 3 so far this week, this one was just as good as the first 2 and well worth the money.

While Kelly was off doing some beauty prep for tomorrow's big day, the wedding of which we came to Thailand, Meg and I went back to the markets (no pictures, they didn't turn out) and I found this, it is a tiger prawn but bigger than I have ever seen, we put a credit card next to it to give it perspective, amazing.

We ended up getting back to the resort and sat down to watch the stream of Le Tour de France but unfortunately the video was very choppy, audio was brilliant so just listened.

Tomorrow is the wedding so expect a heap of wedding photos but I have the morning off before my role starts so should be a relaxed one. Apparently the wedding planners have everything under control so I just have to rock up, bustle a few people around and introduce the speeches which is nice, nothing to stress about though I have a few words to write tomorrow as I never go unprepared.

Until tomorrow.
